February Entry
Often times when I get indigestion or a mild sore throat, the first thing I search for are herbal remedies on the internet. For so many years now, I have found so many herbal remedies and natural ways to either ease and calm my pains. Not to imply that medicine is not essential, I do think it is necessary depending on the ailment. However, whether its ginger or chamomile tea for indigestion, I have always been satisifed with how it helps with the pain. So here in this blog, I will share some of the things that have helped me for a number of things such as acne, hair growth and more. Stay tuned!
March Entry (Dry Throat & Coughs)
For over a week now, I had been sick with a dry throat or virus, thus it delayed a lot of the work I had been set to do. However, due to this sickness, I want to share some of the things that I made for my dry thoat/virus. According to my mom, its a korean tradition to put fresh bean sprouts (tail and head cut off) into a bowl of honey and to leave it over night. In the morning you'll notice that the bean sprouts have shrunk and the honey is more liquified. Another alternative is grinded pear with honey. However, I've always eaten the bean sprouts with honey when I came down with a bad cough. Personally, I find it to be delicious. My throat was in so much pain due to coughs interrupting my sleeps in the middle of the night this past week, that I made both bean sprouts and pear with honey. I recommend giving it a try if you ever come down with a bad cough or dry throat that causes you to persistently cough. A couple of other things that will help you are humidifiers with drops of peppermint, eucalyptus and lemon oil. Taking a hot steamy bath/shower is also recommended as well as buying lozenges if the coughs are too painful.
For teas, over the week I had drank peppermint tea, lemon ginger and lemon enchinacea (found this tea to be most helpful for me)
If you ever come down with a cough or even a dry throat, give these a try. It's not something that will cure it on the spot but it's to be taken every day until you get better. It's helped me so much but it requires patience!
